Make a wish

Its interesting how its possible to change the whole way of seeing things when meeting somebody inspiring or somebody who we feel connected with. And then, when one day this super inspiring person comes, we do crazy things – we quit our jobs, move out of our homes and leave our friends in order to start building up something because we think this is it! We have expectations, hopes and wishes towards that something and of course, sincere trust that this is how it will stay! But then, something happens, things doesnt go like expected and dissappointment comes. With all our heart we believed that its safe and sure… but actually, nothing is ever sure!

Its hard to admit that some things get to and end and sometimes it takes ages, oh yes, ages to get over the things what used to be part of our lives but are not anymore. Lifes goes in circles. Everything has a beginning and an end. Sometimes the time between an ending and a new beginning may seem long and hard but that is the time for us to stay quiet and calm within ourselves, its for us to heal! And then, when this new possibility, new light comes, it may be scary. We are afraid to get hurt again, to feel all those dissappointments and often we cannot do something because it reminds us so badly those things we had in the past, so we just decide not to do those things, not to feel, not to take responsibility. We run away! But what is life when being constantly scared of doing something wrong or getting hurt?

It´s sure that nothing will ever be the same. We cannot have the same feeling back, the same experiences, the same tastes, looks, the same whatever. It will always be new and different! Lets say that you had this awesome job with all the extras you couldnt even wish for and then one day they just fire you! Couldnt see that coming! Well, its hard to accept that but in one year it will be easier to understand. Maybe you had to loose this job to get a lifetime possibility and travel the whole world so then in 10 years you could give out 3 books what inspire the whole world. Couldnt see that coming either, right!? I want to say that I believe everything has its timing. Things and come to us when we are ready! And things leave us when they have served their purpose!
People come to teach us something and sometimes important people have to leave so even more important ones can enter!

Holding on to somebody or something blocks the new possibilities to enter! Sometimes its not a person, its a feeling! I believe that the most important thing is to forgive and no matter what, to be grateful – for everything there was and for sure everything what is still coming even tho it might not include that one thing or that one person! You will still be happy! You will still be satisfied, if you trust and let go that not what YOU want is the best but what is, right now, is the best that could ever be! Life is full of magic and love and its all around us, its just hard to see while being scared or mad or complicated!
Simple!

Nudity

I have to share this photo because of my huge love towards nude photography. Many people around me get often asked if they are interested of being my nude models, most of them dont have nothing against it, but the issue comes when im asking their permission to share those photos.
I highly admire people who are okey of sharing their nude photos but I also understand that in our society people do not approve it. In general, being naked in front of others is a tabu for us, its something weird. We are taught since very young to cover and hide a lot of things – we hide our faces under loads of layers of make-up, we cover our bodies and marks and feelingas as well. For some reason we are ashamed of something natural and beautiful. But how can we be truly happy when we are not okey with who we are?

“True beauty is unaware
Vulnerability is a tremendous gift
Because there is no fear
The rose is not afraid
It is there
And because of that we admire it
The divine feminine is not about competiting with other women
Its about forming the sisterhood!”

There will be loads of amazing photography projects of mine in the future, if you are interested, let me know! ❤️
Thank you Tânia and Lidia for sharing this beautiful monent with me!!

Thank you, Universe, for the acrobats

So grateful for having the chance of binding two things what my soul loves the most – photography and acroyoga!

5 years ago I wouldnt have guessed I end up here – as looking myself, being a flexible yogy girl, travelling around the world, taking photos of wonderful athletes who I can call my family of the Universe!!!

Being a freelancer is not always easy but it sure gives me the full freedom to do whatever I want, where ever I feel!
So, thank you, Universe, for the acrobats! ❤️❤️

To know someone..

The most beautiful thing in life is to see someone growing next to you, growing up with you! Seeing them having the first relationship, finishing the university, having the first heartbreak or getting married, being pregnant, having a child ..

Time is something what teaches us a lot about people around. It teaches the little facts, which, in the end are the ones what actually matter. Did you know that your friend has super sensitive area on his body, which you, in now way!! can touch because otherwise he will laugh his eyes off.. or did you know that this little child of your friend doesnt actually go to school, he is learning everything by himself, or did you know that I find it extremely cute when somebody offers to finish my leftovers, which didnt fit into my stomack..

How can we actually say that we know somebody when we do not evem know with which hand they are writing, what colors are their eyes or what they think about God, Universe or UFO´s..?

Time is something what builds relationships, it´s what builds strong and long lasting relationships. It is an honour to be standing next to my friends and family and capture all the emotions and moments what we call life!

When you are far from home during holidays ..

Who wouldnt dream spending New Year´s Eve somewhere exotic, far from home, surrounded by people with different backrounds or ways of seeing life. In a land which language is not so familiar and the food what is not exactley usual for us. Yes, we all secretly dream of adventures and facing our fears, doing something crazy, saying YES to things we thought we could never do..

valma-17

..and then, we silently accept the usual and ordinary, we do not try to jump over our comfort zone, we just relax and let life carry us like a little fragile leaf.

To become a better, stronger and smarter. To handle everything what life brings to us, we have to be prepared. So getting out of the comfort zone is the very first step! However we see it, jumping off from the bridge, talking to a stranger, saying somebody we love them, there are different fears, everyone has their own frights to deal with. Second step is accepting. Saying “Yes, I am afraid of free falling and so what?!  I will jump off from the plane or off from the bridge, just to finally be free and be responsible of my own thoughts.” or “Yes, I really suck explaining my feelings because I dont know if I am loved back but I dont care, I say I love you because theres nothing to loose and even if you do not love me back, I still love you and I still want you to be happy!”

valma-11

I used to be afraid of travelling alone, so 3 years ago I decided to go on a trip to Spain, from (Estonia to Spain) totally alone, I was scared as hell but I decided to get over this fear. Now, 3 years later, I am living in Portugal, only 4068km from my home. When I came I was alone too but you meet people, you make relationships and create a family.

valma-4

Yes it is hard to be far from home, in a country where they do not speak your language, where they understand things differently, sometimes they dont understand at all but this is something we have to accept again. We are very different, we understand and see the world differently.

valma-37

Christmas, the holidays of family is probably the most hardest time to be far from home. Homesickness, lack of love or coldness – these are some thoughts that might influence your whole body not to feel good. Mind starts creating different realities and thoughts to protect itself from something what is not exactley there. I was in this with all my being. I had hard times adapting present because I wasnt in the present. My mind was constantly in the future, imaging how I finally get to home to hug my family and how horrible these next 1,5 month will be without seeing them. Oh, and these neverending skype calls .. (Sorry mommy and sissy!)

But actually it is another weakness. I believe the third step is to understand what makes us feel like this. What brings out these fears again? Being afraid of not loved back, doing something, loosing something, being alone somewhere although there are so many people around who loves us. In my case, it was just the combination of being all the time cold, all the time in somewhere dark and spending much time alone because its too cold or too dark or too.. yes, just the little things, but the little things actually creates our life, the little things make the big ones in the end but the little things are also the easiest to solve. Turn on the heaters or crab a coffee with a friend when there is daylight outside. Talk when you are afraid! Do not be afraid to ask help. Nothing happens when we sit at home!

valma-43

Finally, I had amazing Christmas, out in the countryside of Portugal, Miranda do Douro, with amazing Portuguese family. I tried wonderful foods, get to know really different way of celebrating Christmas, hugged a lot and not even expecting, I got presents. Not only things, I mean rather the feelings, the possibilities to actually be there, experience all this and be surrounded with so much love. #grateful

So in the end, we are the ones who create our future, crate our thoughts and life in general! Just by accepting that we have something inside and letting it in, changes already a lot. We also create the moments, we choose the people and conversations, we choose what we eat and what we dont. There are always options, we just have to listen to our heart. Thank you for one of the most amazing and eye opening Christmastime and New Year´s Eve, dear friends, you are the family I have here and I cannot be more grateful for that!

Magic in Africa – Moroccoan dream

As I am living in Porto last half a year, our trip to Morocco started with a long drive towards Madrid to catch a plane there. We stoped for a picnic near the border of Spain, in beautiful Fraga do Puio – Picote. It is the Douro river what borders Spain and Portugal in this side.

magicinmarokko

I swear, we were driving with 160 to get to the airport on time. We were really late but of course, the plane was also late. So we had some snacks at the airport and waited for our departure.

magicinmarokko-4

We decided not to stay at the hostel but rather find some locals and stay at their house, to get the real Moroccoan life feeling. So this is the amazing Sigou family. They took us into their home and treated us like part of their family.

Our first day in Morocco started very early. We woke up around 6.30 to get to the meeting point for our 2-day camel trip to the desert. As we stayed in the middle of town, the meeting point was quite close but already with this 12min walk I experienced a lot new.

Marrakech streets in the morning..

The local bakery and bread

On our 6-hour drive we stopped in small places to have a coffee or some snacks. Usually the people didnt want me to take photos of them, I had to do it secretly or not to do at all, many times happened that they came to me and insisted me to delete the photo. But some people were different 🙂

Another funny fact about Morocco is that you cant use bathroom for free and you are not paying for the water but for the toilet paper. There are ladies or guys sitting in front of the toilets, asking money and even if you have your own paper, they just dont let you in.

magicinmarokko-32

To Sahara we were driving with a small bus with a lot of different people from all over the world. The worst thing was that this bus was shaking horribly so sleeping was quite impossible. Every time you got to fall asleep there was some bigger hole on the way and you were flying again somewhere above the ceiling of the bus.

Our first real stop and lunch included was in a place called Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This is actually a name of the city Kasbah (castle) Ait (family) Ben (son) and Haddou (the meer of the city). And this was our tour guide.

magicinmarokko-38

This city is actually very famous. They have filmed many well-known movies there, such as Gladiator and King of Thrones (3rd episode).

We made a round over the city, at first crossed the river, using the old way (just stepping on the potato bags) and before we even had started we were surrounded by local children who wanted to take all our money..

The city was full of little shops and markets with people selling amazing things, you sure had to bargain a lot and ask at least 3 times less the actual price because they put a lot more to the price when they see you are not local.

We went back to the place we started crossing the new bridge what they had built 4 years ago because during spring water level goes really high and its hard to cross the river. Many families have moved out of this town because of this reason and they stay now in the town in front of river.

Our amazing tour guide asked for this small trip extra 25 dirhams from each person which is approximately 2,5 eur (I guess he was his extra earning because as our trip was fully payed already) Before we left, we had a lunch there. W tried local tajine, which was amazing, specially with the special spicy sauce we asked.

magicinmarokko-95

After few hour drive to the destination where we started our camel ride, we met these local children again. May say they were everywhere, begging for food and when they got something, they didnt share it with others. It was obvious that they didnt get enough to eat there so we gave them what we had – date fruits.

.. and the camel ride started. We had been warned that for girls its okey but for guys, a bit more uncomfortable, this was right. Around one hour we were sloping on those camels before we get to the Sahara, where we stayed in campings for the night. And the faces of the guys, it was hilarious. The next day many of them decided to walk back.

magicinmarokko-106

We arrived to the destination when it was dark already, had tea (really strong green tea with lots of sugar, they are used to make this a lot there) and dinner, which was local soup and tajine again. During thw evening we had more time to talk with others and get to know each other better. What was cool, was the fact that we were sharing the tents with 4 people, so we got the AUSTRALIANS whoop, of course we decided to do some acro yoga on our beds.

The view out from our camping in the morning..

DCIM100GOPROGOPR3574.

So we woke up again 6.30, had the breakfast, which was local bread with butter and jam and again, this super strong green tea.

We had some moments before leaving, so we decided to do acro yoga in the desert.

And not even noticing we were back on the saddles of camels, riding in the desert.

The next stops were quite short, we visited local museum, of course they wanted to sell everything for you with “very good price”. The funniest thing was that this one guy could even speak Portuguese so this is what I was doing, speaking Portuguese in Morocco.

After the best break “ice-cream brake” we had lunch (3 times you could guess, we had tajine again) after what we continued our way back to Marrakech.

As usual, locals were trying to sell us everything. Here, for example, they tried to sell STONES, yes, stones for 5 euros.

After arriving to Marrakech, we sayed good-bye to everybody we met during this time. It was a little bit heart braking because we got actually pretty close with this super short time. And we went to discover nightlife in Marrakech, also trying to find some fountains or any moving water to wash ourselves because during last 5 days we had not seen any water or bathrooms. My face was so brown that I didnt know anymore if it was because of the sun or because I was just so dirty.

We tried different local street food and even snails (on the picture spice cake, made of different spices). Actually it was pretty annoying, everywhere we went, there were local sellers trying to crab us and get us eat in their booths.

I really loved the local sweets, made of different nuts, date fruit and loads of sugar. After 3 of them, it was actually hard to eat anything else.

So, during the evening we had lots of different local foods and sweets and when we decided to go back to home, our wonderful host informed us that he had cooked dinner. So we went to home and had another dinner (I guess it was like third or forth dinner already this evening). Which was amazing! The best Tajine for sure 🙂

DCIM100GOPROGOPR3594.

With the permisson of our host, I share a bit about their home, which was really different than we are used here. They usually dont have bathrooms in the houses and toilet is just a hole.

So the next day we started with the visit to local hamam (a public place where people wash themselves). FINALLY we could wash ourselves. Unfortunately I dont have pictures od this place because taking a camera wasnt just allowed there. But it looked something like..
Man and women were separated. Girls got to be naked but guys never, they had to wear swimming pants. When I went inside, I took all my washing things and one really big and strong lady started scrubbing me, she was SUPER strong. I guess she took half of my skin with her. Even the hair, she wasnt very sensible but at least I got clean. After half an hour we were fresh and free to discover Marrakech during daytime.

I went and sit down in a place called Cafe de France, where we got to use the wifi. I was waiting for others when this homeless boy came to me, trying to sell me napkins. And of course I bought them, I just couldnt resist. And then, there was this British man, sitting with his wife next to me and he started talking a story about similar girl he met in Egypt and this story just moved my heart a lot but what moved my heart even more was their story. 10 years ago they got married and spent their honeymoon in Morocco, now, 10 years later they came back, stayed in the same hotels, visited the same places and were just very happy!

“I had all the pockets full of change but now I dont have anything because she giver everything to poor children and homeless woman, which I dont mind of course haha”

magicinmarokko-319

After a while waiiting, we met our Australian friends, had some good lunch and loads of good talks, did some acro yoga and danced on the streets of Marrakech.

Meeting different people from all over the world was the highlight of this all I guess. The fact that we could share our views of the world, listen theirs and just get to know other cultures, wouldnt change these conversations and experiences with anything.

Our last night we spent teaching acro yoga and latin dances to some local people at our hosts friends airbnb house. We also practiced some fire dancing and had a dinner with our host family. In the morning, what woke us up was the sound of rain, which was raining inside of the room next to ours because this room didnt have a roof. The day was colder than usually, but still okey to wear shorts. We left Marrakech with lots of good memories, love in our heart, being very grateful to everybody we met!
